After leaving Midland our next stop was Cuyahoga National Park, which sits smack between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio.
Joe was due to fly back to Seattle for his monthly work trip so we had arranged a meet up with our friends Maraea and Joe who we had met back in Voyageurs.
We rendezvoused with them at Silver Springs Campground in Stow Ohio where we would spend the next few days.
Exploring the park
On a short timeline (with Joe leaving for his work trip) we knew Thursday would be our only opportunity to get into Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
So, after cranking out a work day, we headed into the park with Maraea and Joe.
Once in Cuyahoga Valley National Park we decided to hike the Ledges Trail. This was a 1.5 mile loop with some cool rock features formed from an ocean that once covered this area.
As far as National Parks go, we wouldn’t say that Cuyahoga Valley National Park was up near our list of favorites. I was a nice place, but not amazing compared to the other places we’d seen.
The next day Joe flew out to Seattle and I spent the day at a CrossFit gym and then got my hair done (oh yeah!)! Exciting stuff!
Cleveland
Saturday, Maraea and I went to an amazing CrossFit gym, CrossFit Cadre. You should check it out if you’re in Cleveland. And then, Maraea & Joe and I headed into Cleveland for dinner and to explore the downtown streets.
After a delicious dinner at Barrio (a local taco joint), we headed out for an evening of bowling (yes, we went bowling) and eventually ended the night hanging out around a campfire with all our camp neighbors at the county park.
The neighbors were an entertaining bunch! They were incredibly kind and hospitable, and even let us tour some of their fifth wheels and toy haulers!
Maraea and Joe left the campground Sunday morning while I spent the day working from the campsite. And my Joe flew back on a red eye Monday morning, so I picked him up and we started our drive toward Niagara Falls!
