This has been a CRAZY week! Goal number 1 was getting our Sportsmobile Pop Top Canvas Replaced!
Super bonus was meeting up with friends in Lake Tahoe, and doing some fun mountain biking in Carson City. It felt like a crazy rush!
If you like watching video, including how the Sportsmobile pop top looks now that it’s been replaced, here’s our Week in Van Life video. In addition, you can also checkout all of our older This week in Van Life videos here.
Lake Tahoe
We got to hangout in Lake Tahoe with friends Jessica, Dylan, and our new Instagram star friend https://instagram.com/cookingwithbadger.
Badger made us amazing meals all weekend! No joke, amazing! See below.
While in Lake Tahoe we couldn’t believe it, but we got snowed on. The snow has definitely been chasing us!
Carson City Mountain Biking
We loved riding mountain bikes in Carson City! Especially the Creek Trail. It was so fun we did it twice!
On the Creek Trail watch out for the rock drop with a flat landing! After doing it twice, and thinking that I hit it too slow the first time. It turns out I hit it too fast the first time, and WAY too fast the second time.
Sportsmobile Pop Top Canvas Replaced
Getting our Sportsmobile pop top canvas replaced under warranty was a HUGE hurdle that I should make a complete stand alone video on.
This has been something that has been in the works for YEARS!
Our pop top canvas bug netting (specifically) started ripping right around a year after getting it installed, and has continued to rip ever since.
The unfortunate thing is that it was like pulling teeth to get Sportsmobile (now Field Vans) to recommend that we have the canvas replaced. It actually took another Sportsmobile location reaching out to us, and suggesting that we push to get the canvas replaced for us to ask Sportsmobile to do the replacement.
Once we were set on getting our Sportsmobile pop top canvas replaced, it took about 5 emails, and 2 phone calls to even get ahold of the right person, and then it was still obvious they didn’t want to do the canvas replacement. This is after they’d seen the photos of MANY tears in the bug netting and paint pealing off the ceiling panels.
I have always been the type of person that wants to do things right. With the highest quality that my ability allows. So, I never understand when it’s hard to get a company to want to do the right thing.
Anyway, Sportsmobile West (AKA Field Vans) got the canvas replaced (along with a few other things), and we are looking good with the new dark gray canvas!
It’s a huge weight off my chest to have this done. When you call your van home, you want people working on it to care the way you do.
On to Vegas and the CrossFit Age Group Qualifiers!
