The Lumbisi Bike Park in Quito was actually a ride that we weren’t supposed to do. The protests going on in the country closed some of the road to the trails we were intending to ride.
This ended up being one of our favorite rides!
Riding Lumbisi Bike Park
If you could avoid getting sucked into the ditches… the flow on these trails was outstanding!! Not to mention the endless jumps that allowed you to push your riding ability around almost every corner.
There is some serious launches at Lumbisi Bike Park!! If you are an advanced mountain biker, you will have a ball!

Jose’s Farm
After the ride we were blessed to get to spend the afternoon having lunch and getting a tour of Jose’s Finca (Organic Farm). We ate an amazingly fresh meal, then learned how the farm functions.
Jose’s farm is so well known in Ecuador that people come from all over the country to learn about Organic farming from them.
It’s truly sad that all farming isn’t done in this way. If more farming was done in an Organic sustainable way people would have less sickness, disease, and live longer.
Visiting Ecuador
If you ever get the chance to visit Ecuador… First you NEED to ride mountain bikes! And second you should get outside of the city and explore the farms and smaller towns.
Doing this you will see the stunning views that Ecuador has to offer, as well as meet the people that run these small businesses. They are amazing people!
